Marks list of "firsts"...

Mark has grown up so much in the month. He is transforming from a newborn that only slept and ate to an active baby that likes to smile, kick his legs, make silly noises, and sleep in his own crib! He has also experienced a lot of "firsts" this month some of which were "firsts" for me too!

Better late than never.

Ok so I am super behind on my posting but life has been a little busy lately! ;)

Here is a short update on our life lately. We welcomed our sweet baby boy Mark David Jacobs into the world at 10:15 on October 13, 2011. He was 10.3 lbs and 22 inches long. It was a great experience as all of the family waited and waited for Mark to make his arrival. Finally after about 30 hours Mark was here and he is perfect. Brian was able to take a whole week off after he was born and that was such a fun time for our new little family. Mark has been able to experience a lot of new things in his 7 weeks! He has met most of his loving family, gone on many walks, had a newborn photo shoot, experienced his first Thanksgiving, helped (kind of) set up his first Christmas tree and lights on the house, had his first doctors appointments, gone grocery shopping, and many other fun and not so fun things. Brian had to go back to work after the week was over which left me to take care of Mark by myself which was a new experience. I have learned that it is much harder to get out the door with a newborn than it was for me to get ready to go somewhere. I have also learned that sometimes the days where nothing is going on and you get to stay home and snuggle are some of the best days. I have had lots of help and learned a lot from my mom who has adjusted to being a "Mimi" very well. :) I am not looking forward to returning to work in late January but I still have a lot of time to make new memories with Mark. I thought that I would end this with some adorable pictures of our little guy.

Sweet Mark David

For my first blog ever I thought I would share some pictures of our sweet Mark David Jacobs. Yesterday we went to our final 3D/4D sonogram at A Miracle to Behold. I have always been told to eat something sweet or spicy on the way to the sono to wake him up and get him moving around. I ate a few small chocolate pieces on the way there and they could barely keep up with him! Marks favorite position is to keep his hands up by his face and he was hiding from us most of the time. Luckily between him being a wiggle worm and hiding we got a few good pictures. My pregnancy has been going really well and we can't wait to meet him in 2 short months!!!
